After being appointed by San Diego’s Interim Mayor Todd Gloria and confirmed by the San Diego City Council, Johanna confirmed as an at-large member of the City of San Diego’s Balboa Park Committee. The Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Mayor, the City Council and City Manager on policy issues relating to the acquisition, development, maintenance and operation of Balboa Park.
Johanna Schiavoni was elected the 2013-2014 President of Lawyers Club of San Diego, the largest specialty bar association in San Diego. Lawyers Club, founded in 1972 with the mission ‘to advance the status of women in the law and society,’ now has more than 1100 members and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2012. Johanna will serve as the 42nd President of that distinguished organization. Fourteen former presidents have been appointed or elected to state and federal bench in San Diego, another was the first woman elected to the U.S. Congress from San Diego, and another is the currently elected District Attorney.

Johanna, who serves as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Leadership Alliance, helped successfully guide the SDLA through its incorporation and official certification as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit by the IRS.”
